Miss Steph

Studio Owner / Principal

Miss Steph has been dancing since the age of 2 and trained at Langshaw Dancity under the professionalism of Bernadette Langshaw-Clark, Karen Mortimer, PJ Clarke & Kate Larter. 

As a dancer she has performed in the Military Tattoo, Vivid Sydney and has been a back up dancer for Australian Idol, The Potbelliez, Bonnie Anderson, Macklemore and Jessica Mauboy. 

Miss Steph is in her 9th Season with the NRL where she has had the opportunity to travel to America to train under some of the biggest NBA and NFL choreographers. She currently cheers as part of the Cronulla Sharks Mermaids and is a former cheerleader for St George Illawarra Dragons, NBL Illawarra Hawks and Sydney Kings.

Throughout her professional years Steph worked hard to be part of the NRL squad performing at multiple Grand Finals and State of Origin Series. She was also titles NRL Cheerleader of the Year in 2012 and Cronulla Sharks Mermaid of the Year in 2017. 

Miss Steph is an Acrobatic Arts registered teacher with certification in AcroDance Preschool and Module 1 teacher having passed all practical examinations and achieving 100% in her written examinations.

When Miss Steph isn't at the studio she is continuing her professional dance career with JLD.entertainment at race days and corporate events. Extending her behavioural studies degree in psychology.

Miss Steph drives Coogee Dance Company to promote a positive learning environment and life long friendships. Student wellbeing and safety is her number one priority. Miss Steph lives her dream of teaching the next generation of dancers in a positive and enjoyable environment. 

Miss Emily

Preschool Department Coordinator 

Emily began dancing at the age of 5 in genres including, jazz, GWT, hip hop, lyrical/contemporary, RAD ballet, musical theatre, technique and conditioning.

She has recently graduated in 2018 from Ettingshausens Pro where she received her Cert IV in Dance. She worked with many industry influencers including, Kelley Abbey, Cassandra Bartho, Sophie Holloway, Stephen Tannos, Gaynor Hicks, and Carly Cooper-Smith.

Emily has been an extra in ‘The Voice’ and ‘Dance Boss’ 2018 series. She has also been a featured dancer on a Maltese talk show ‘Eli & I’ in 2016. Emily has been involved in many corporate theatre events such as Christmas show parades, charity performances, and productions.

Continuing to grow as a dancer, teacher and choreographer, Emily regularly attends open classes and auditions to gain further experience and knowledge from industry professionals.

Certified in both READY SET DANCE and READY SET BALLET Miss Emily is CDC.Mini's Principal / Co-Ordinator. In this role Emily ensures that the next generation of preschoolers and kindy students are well looked after and transition nicely into Coogee Dance Company's Junior division. 

Miss Emma


Emma has been dancing since the age of 3, training in all styles. She has successfully completed her RAD Ballet, ISTD Modern and ISTD Tap exams under the direction of Bernadette Langshaw-Clark. 

Emma is furthering her dance training by focusing on completing her RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies as well as her Cert IV in Dance Teaching and Management. Miss Emma is a certified Ready Set Dance and Ready Set Ballet teacher. Her bubbly attitude keeps our preschool and kindy division engaged and absolutely loving each lesson. 


Emma loves teaching, inspiring and passing on her knowledge to younger generations of dancers at Coogee Dance Company. She is dedicated to growing as a teacher and being a role model for her students. 

Miss Teagan 

Jazz & Acrobatics

Originally from Griffith, Teagan began her love of dance at the age of 3. Teagan moved to Sydney in 2018 to train at Brent Street, where she has become a versatile dancer, trained in styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, commercial styles, contemporary and improvisation, hip hop, musical theatre and acro. Since then, Teagan has completed two Diplomas in Dance, one specialising in Performing Arts and the other in Classical Contemporary, where she graduated with Honours in 2019 and 2020.


Teagan has performed in various productions throughout the course of her career so far. She has been in two pro-am musical productions including Beauty and the Beast, where she was elected Dance Captain, and Wicked, where she played the role of Shen Shen. She has worked and trained with many choreographers such as Cassie Bartho, Mitchell Woodcock, Cameron Mitchell, Billy Keohavang, Paris Cavanaugh, Matthew Gode and Lauren Elton. She has performed professionally alongside artists such as Marcia Hines at the Sydney Premier’s Concert and Yuma X within their music video, Secret Lover, as well as working with artists on Dancing with the Stars. 


Teagan has always had a passion for teaching. Within her youth, she choreographed routines and solos for local schools and developed works for primary school presentations and assemblies such as for the event, Kids Rapt on Performance. She has taught at well renowned studios within Sydney such as at Brent Street. Teagan was lucky enough in 2020 to have her own solo choreography featured in her Brent Street Graduation, the Brent Street Open Day and the Contemporary Course’s Sparks Project. 


Teagan is currently studying a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. She hopes to continue sharing her passion of dance and her own choreography with her students at Coogee Dance Company. 

Miss Maxine


Miss Maxine has been working professional in the Performing Arts industry for the past 5 years.


Maxine studied a Certificate IV in Dance at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance in 2018, before receiving a scholarship to complete a Diploma in Dance (Elite Performance) at Dargie Entertainment in 2019. She is currently studying a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management with Transit Dance.


Miss Maxine has a career with the NRL, as a cheerleader for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and has worked in Malaysia for Resorts World Genting. She has appeared in TVC’s for Luna Park, Tourism Australia and Optus. Maxine has also worked for Crown Casino, Vivid, The AFL Footy Show and White Night in Melbourne.


Maxine is professionally trained in RAD Ballet, Commercial Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Broadway Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acrobatics and Latin. She thoroughly enjoys teaching such a wide genre of styles to her students, providing them current and relevant techniques and industry knowledge, to help our students advance and refine their technical skills.


Teaching Faculty

Kate grew up in London, studying both RAD and Cecchetti ballet, and completing a BETEC Extended Diploma in Dance at Lewisham College for 2 years before moving to Australia. She then completed her Bachelor of Dance at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, majoring in Contemporary, while also training in Jazz and Ballet. Kate has also completed her certificates 3 and 4 in fitness and has worked as both a Personal Trainer and then Group Exercise Instructor for over 6 years.


Kate has had the pleasure of performing dance in a variety of mediums and styles including cabaret shows, music videos, costume performance art as well as her own choreography at choreographic platforms. She is a member of independent dance company Bonnie Curtis Projects, French cabaret group Les Femmes Diamant and is the Artistic Director of entertainment company Silhouette 9 Productions.


Kate has been teaching dance since the beginning of 2017, after completing her degree and has had the delight of teaching the tiniest of tots all the way up to adult classes and loves the creativity and energy that this work brings. It’s not about how good you are, it’s about how hard you are willing to work for it!


Student Teacher 

Tiana started dancing at the age of 2 and has been student teaching for 4 years. She is one of Miss Steph's Elite competitor's having competed at over 100 solo eisteddfods with a record of 76 placings in a year. 

Tiana has been part of school ensembles as well as having performed at the Sydney Opera House. She is still a dance student and looks forward to a professional dance career in the future under the guidance of Coogee Dance Company's Principal and Studio Owner, Stephanie Buncombe.
